extended services

Get Sorted works closely with Extended Services as well as the schools. This means we are able to deliver action packed school holiday activities as well as delivering after school and lunch time music and art activities in Rotherham schools. This is invaluable to schools and the children because it means they are able to enjoy making and creating music in their own school, with their own friends and there is no travelling to the town centre for families who do not have transport or have other commitments.

  • Lunch Time Clubs: We can provide a wide range of music and arts activities to keep children amused and focused during lunchtime. These tend to be most popular in the winter as the weather often dictates indoor playtime. Activities can be for any key stage and can be fun activities as well as providing a learning experience. They can be an addition to topic work or can be a whole new creative experience for children who want to explore different musical or art experiences.

  • After School Clubs: Get Sorted believes that music changes people's lives and this comes out most when children and young people join after school clubs both in and out of school. Some schools prefer to run their after school clubs on site so that the children don't have to travel into the town centre or because they know their children will only attend clubs on site. Some prefer to organise after school clubs off site where the young people make their own way to Get Sorted and take part in a range of clubs currently on offer. We offer a wide range of workshops and activities and these can be dictated by the children and young people, by the schools or can be suggested by our own staff. After school clubs can lead to school performances or the children can be given a special show time during school assemblies.

  • Vulnerable Groups: Music is an excellent hook for engaging children and young people. For those hard to reach young people music and art can provide an early intervention as some children and young people use music as a way of expressing themselves or as a way of burning off excess energy or anger. Rapping is extremely popular with year 6 students and those in the early comprehensive years as some hard to reach young people see this as their only way of expressing what is going on inside them. We can organise activities at school as well as at Get Sorted.

  • Putting on a Show: Need help putting together a winter concert, a harvest festival or an end of term show or concert. We can support you or can work with the children and help you to plan the event. We can provide a pianist if that is all you need or can provide a band if you are looking for something different. We have a media department that can come along and video your performance or can come along and audio record your performance if you would like to sell CDs at your concert. We also have a range of musicals, musical stories and plays which we teach with the aim of performing at shows.

"Get Sorted are a valued partner in making the activities a success and have provided many young people with high quality tuition." John Bell (ESPO )
