Cornet

bullet pointDid you know? Louis Armstrong, one of the greatest of all Jazz musicians and a famous trumpet player, learned to play the cornet first while still at school.

The cornet is a brass instrument very similar to the trumpet. Like the trumpet and all other modern brass wind instruments, the cornet makes a sound when the player vibrates (buzzes) the lips in the mouthpiece, creating a vibrating column of air in the tubing. All Get Sorted students learning the cornet can take exams through the Associated Board of Music.
