Clarinets have the largest pitch range of any common woodwind instrument rivalled only by the bassoon. The vast majority of clarinets used by professional musicians are made from African hardwood. As woodwind instruments are straight, the hands do not work against each other so younger students may find them an easier introduction to music. As you learn the clarinet you will also learn how to breathe, finger placement, scales and arpeggios, as well as playing some of your favourite songs and tunes.
